The first Four Corners Recycling Initiative Stakeholders meeting took place on October 7, 2008. The meeting was well attended by representatives throughout the county. Stay tuned for updates based on the proceedings of this meeting!
Recycling containers have been delivered to Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and the Ute Mountain Ute Casino in Towaoc! Four Corners Recycling Initiative bins are now sited at seven educational, institutional and public sites around Montezuma County
- Recycling of mixed metals, corrugated cardboard, and mixed paper is now available to the public at the Mancos School Complex, the Dolores Public Lands Center, and the Montezuma County Landfill.
- Montezuma-Cortez High School and Cortez Middle School now recycle mixed paper locally with the support of the Four Corners Recycling Initiative.
- Dolores Schools and Mancos Schools now have access to mixed paper, cardboard, and mixed metal recycling on school grounds.
- Educational programming about recycling is now being developed for local schools.
